My Somatic training began as a shy young dance and figure roller skater who escaped awkward social interaction through an intently focused figure skating practice. To be good, there was a high demand for subtle control of one's neuro-muscular ability to keep a fine line between your wheels as you turned and balanced. Here is where I first learned to pay attention to finely detailed actions in my body.

It is no wonder I embraced Iyengar Yoga. My love of attention to detailed control had an ancient spiritually based system in which to thrive and deepen. I studied with George Purvis and many of his senior teachers. Then later partnered with Fred Dowd to found the Dallas Yoga Center.

Attending a workshop with Moshe Feldenkrais threw the Somatic door wide open and launched a full career in playing with movement to expand awareness, brain function & sense of Self.

I was deeply called to explore a spiritual path that lead me to travel regularly to South India, where I studied Advaita Vedanta for over 25yrs. Culture shock upon returning home was often jarring. So I removed myself from the familiarity of the American yoga community just when its secular popularity exploded and was guided to study martial arts.

Finding Grand Master Lee to teach me the profoundly grounding & empowering practices of Tai Chi & Chi Gong was the blessed next step in my journey. It awakened this somatic knowing, "By unblocking energy, we can strengthen and heal the body."

Then when Wisdom of the Earth plant medicine found me I was at the beginning stages of assisting my parents on their final transition. I instantly received so much compassionate, loving support from our allies in the Plant Kingdom that I was called to share their healing powers  with others.

Other interests in my life that bring joy and support me  have been Argentine Tango, 5Rhythms & Ecstatic dancing, gardening and spending time with my large and growing extended family & friends.

There is a joy in inquiring, listening and learning that fires my curiosity, that has deepened my intuition & sharpens my observational skills leading me to an open-hearted response to life and others. Traveling these inner bridges from thinking, feeling, and sensing into doing is an Art and a Science that inspires me in my service to others. These are the gifts of my life's journey that I wish to offer for your growth and transformation.
